About GSK

葛兰素史克公司是全球最大的、以研究开发为基础的跨国制药企业之一。公司由两大制药企业葛兰素威康和史克必成于2000年12月合并成立。公司总部设在英国,业务营运中心设在美国，在全球37个国家拥有85个生产基地。员工总数超过10万名。

GSK is one of those biggest multinational, research-driven, pharmaceutical companies in the world. It was merged by two big pharmaceutical companies, Glaxo Wellcome and Smith Kline Beecham, in December of 2000. The headquarter of GSK is located in UK, while its operational headquarter is in US. GSK runs the business in 37 countries and it has got 85 manufacturing sites globally nowadays, with more than 100,000 employees.

GSK has got the largest R&D team within the pharmaceutical industry, with 24 R&D centres in 11 countries in the world, and has more than 15000 scientists working for discovering the novel medicines. Each year, the company spends more than 5 billion US dollars on research developments.

GSK China R&D Centre is the first fully integrated, end-to-end R&D centre in China, encompassing all activities from target identification, basic research, compound synthesis, clinical trial, product registration to final launch. GSK wants to be a leader to drive “Made in China” to “Discovered in China”, and make as much contribution as possible to move forward the progress of China’s drug discovery.
